BOOTCAMPS
“Just wanted to say thank you for the bootcamp over the last two weeks. Having spent the longest time prevaricating about doing any 'real' exercise I am so pleased that I finally mustered up the courage to sign up! Doing any sort of 'sport/ exercise' has always filled me with fear and dread - a school life of always being last, never being good enough for the teams, feeling completely humiliated at tennis lessons, un-coordinated at aerobics classes and in awe of anyone who can run! However, once a week Pilates and the odd Power Plate session clearly doesn't cut the mustard in the face of my advancing years and despite constantly talking about taking remedial measures and getting control of my bad eating habits, I have avoided actually doing anything about it for several years.
Anyway, I have been on your email list for many years having once received a school raffle prize from you and in spite of my excuses and cynicism I finally forced myself to sign up for a bootcamp. And, completely in spite of all my emotional hang ups and insecurities about exercise (evidenced by my 'on the verge of tears' arrival on the first cardio day!!), I really enjoyed it and despite often feeling that I wasn't as fast or as fit or as able to carry on as much as some of my fellow bootcampers, I did my best and tried to remember that I was doing it for myself and that as long as I used the sessions to my own ability I would still ultimately benefit! And benefit I did - I know you're not fans of the scales but not only was I aware of feeling better, being able to see my lower ribs and my trousers fitting more comfortably, I did in fact lose 6lbs over the two weeks! I was pretty strict with the eating plan and am trying to continue in that vein. I have also signed up for a pass and indeed went this morning and another bootcamp in June - akin to Stockholm Syndrome I felt a bit lost without you at the weekend and feel the need to embrace my tormentors rather than fight against them, ha ha! Apologies for the slight ramble but I did want to thank you both, Amanda in particular for having been so encouraging and for kick-starting my new relationship with exercise! Now, instead of being met with hilarity in the playground when I turn up in gym kit, I have a new-found status as an exercise-junky - with overwhelming awe and praise when I say I gave up alcohol for two weeks!!”
“It was a great experience and a brilliant introduction to exercise that I have woefully ignored for many years!”
“This was my first bootcamp so I have nothing to compare it to but I was very impressed with our trainer, Kelly. I felt she had the perfect mix of professionalism and humour. I would definitely participate in another of her bootcamps.”
“Just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thanks for an excellent bootcamp!! I had great fun and it was great to push myself out of my comfort zone. Getting up and out on the common for 6.15 was a challenge in itself! Thanks for all your encouragement and your sunny personality when the going got tough. I'm hooked and I'm looking forward to the next one.”
“Motivational skills and sense of humour of the trainer makes a big difference - having a laugh while in PAIN at crack of sparrowfart hour was so brilliant!”
“I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for an amazing bootcamp - I thoroughly enjoyed training with you and I have been recommending FFAP everywhere I go!! You were really supportive and encouraging - it was a lot more fun that I had been expecting.”
“One of the things I enjoyed the most was the variety. No two days were the same even though we were working on the same areas (arms, legs, cardio etc). It was this variety that kept me motivated.”
“I absolutely loved Bootcamp! It was my first ever, so I have nothing to compare with; however, Amanda was brilliant and so were all the other ladies......and to top that; without a doubt we had the loveliest weather.”
“I thought Amanda was excellent, I can’t sing her praises enough. She was very well informed and answered all our questions on nutrition and lifestyle choices. I also found her to be an excellent motivator who made hard work seem (almost) fun :) Just want to pass on my sincere thanks to her – I look forward to booking with her for the next 2 week bootcamp.”
“Thought it was a great experience and surprisingly inspiring. Great to be surrounded by such a disparate group of women who are all prepared to bust a gut to achieve their goals at 6.15 in the morning and remain smiley and supportive of one another, good life affirming stuff!”

28 DAY BODY BLITZ
"This morning I was 146.lb. I am truly gobsmacked. This means a total of 12-13lb lost since I started on 10 November (day -3 of bootcamp!). I cannot remember ever being so low, must have been pre children - 22 years ago...and I need a belt to keep my skinny jeans up, everything in my wardobe fits me or is too big. My goal was to lose 7lb. Sorted!" Jackie Reiss, Body Blitz Bootcamper.
"This is best and most inspirational weight loss programme I have EVER done!" Tina Laing, Body Blitz Bootcamper
"I've managed to lose almost a stone (!!), drop a dress size and feel better than I have done for a very long time. When I tried on party dresses on Thursday night, I could fit into everything (and some things are now too loose!). I am determined to keep focused on mindful eating and, of course, to keep up with the exercise. Thanks to everyone on the forum - you have provided such great support and fun. Thanks so much Janey - your enthusiasm and positivity have helped keep me on track. I've lost count of the times I've said to people when I've been evangelising about the programme: 'Janey says..' so you really have been with me throughout. Well done everyone and very happy day 28!!" Heidi Kirby, Body Blitz Bootcamper
"Just fantastic! I didn't once feel like I was 'counting down the days' as it was such a positive and inspiring experience." Survey Monkeys Response
"Body blitz completely surpassed my expectations. If I'm honest, I went in to it slightly half heartedly - I knew I wanted to lose my baby weight but at the same time wasn't sure I could be bothered to yet and also wasn't sure if I would be able to find the time to do all the exercise that was required. A set back early on meant I couldn't start the bootcamp until day 4. The old me might have used that as an excuse not to do it at all and put it off until the new year but with Janey's encouragement I joined it at day 4 and I'm so glad I did. A combination of the motivational calls and the forum almost made it impossible for me NOT to do it - completing the bootcamp became a personal challenge and one I am very proud to have finished. Ok so I wasn't perfect but Janey is very good at not letting you dwell on the past - if you fall off the wagon the only option is to pick yourself up again and move on. I think I will go back to the calls again and again if ever I need a kick up the backside - not only in relation to fitness and exercise but also life generally. The message that I took home loud and clear from it all was 'You and you alone are responsible for who you are so what are you waiting for?'. Janey is a very inspirational person and really puts her all into the programme - you feel she is there with you every step of the way. It is the perfect programme for new mothers as you can fit it in around the baby without being too regimented. I couldn't recommend it more highly." Survey Monkeys Response
"When I started I weight 10 stone 6 which was steadily increasing... I knew I needed to do something now to stop it increasing.... I really wanted to get down to 10 stone during this blitz and to kickstart a healthier lifestyle. I now weigh 9 st 11 which I am really happy with. Hope to get down to 9st 9 before xmas but I feel amazing with what I have achieved. Feel like I am lighter and fitter. Clothes feel better and I feel more confident. My curves are more defined.. feel like I have a wasit now and not just a few spare tyres!!" Body Blitz Bootcamper
"I was 11 stone 4lbs when I started this on bootcamp properly on the 14th November and today I weighed 10 stone 1lb!!!! Unbelievable! Thank you sooooo much Janey - the way I think about food now having a positive effect on my body has completely changed how I eat (the wine has to stay - it is part of me! ha ha) Thank you all for keeping me inspired and motivated - you are all stars." Body Blitz Bootcamper
"The whole program was inspiring and motivating along with be challenging. Morning email which we received at 4am with link to motivational call was fantastic sometimes I listened to the call before exercise class which got me really fired up. What was so amassing that I found the calls do inspiring and Janey knew exactly how I was feeling and said all the right motivating inspiring things to really inspire and to keep me focused. The conditioning videos were fantastic. Everyday working on a different part of your body although they were tough they were also great fun they really made me smile and laugh which really helped me to do them. I looked forward to them felt like Janey was in the room with me and was my own personal trainer!!" Survey Monkey's Response
FOOD MANAGEMENT MADE EASY
"Thank so so much for starting FMME! I listen to the Q & A whiles at work and I just love how passionate you are about what you do. I will be doing FMME 2! Since FMME I have juiced everyday, planned my week ahead and I so far lost 9lbs yay!
I can not believe I lost so much in 5 weeks - because at the moment things are manic in my personal life, but I've managed to stay focus and lose weight. I'm a bit behind in my homework but I will get there. I don’t take part in the forum but have read what the girls have been saying and the support has been great. I really do believe I will get where I want to be this time. Thank you so much Janey x" Shelley, London
"I have now lost an amazing 20lbs!! It is such a positive experience and it is doing wonders for my confidence. I feel so re-vitalised and motivated. This is the best thing I've ever spent my money on. The best investment of time/money ever!" Rebecca, London
"Hi - i haven't posted much on the forum, but just wanted to say that by following the FMME principles and completely cutting out wheat and dairy i have now lost half a stone since Day 1 of bootcamp on 3rd October! All this while starting back at work after 10 months maternity leave in the first week of bootcamp - what an acheivement, i feel so empowered and inspired to lose more. 1 more stone to go till i reach my wedding day weight - that will be much harder than the half stone i just lost, but i'm going to go for it and see if i can do another half stone by christmas! Star please Janey!! Xxx" Sita, London
"This boot camp is really helping me in so many ways - is it my head or am I actually hungry? Am I overfeeding and undernourishing etc? Cutting out the sugar has been by far the biggest mindset shift and life change for me. For some reason I haven’t really ever taken in how addictive sugar is and that the more you have the more you want. Oh and not to forget that it MAKES YOU HUNGRY! (how did I not know this???). What I can honestly say is that I have my sugar cravings in control and that alone has had positive knock on effect to my appetite. My sugar cravings are getting easier to manage as I am understanding that its my body crying out for sugar when I now know I can actually never give it enough." Linda, London
"I have started eating a lot slower now and boy has that made a difference quiet frightening how much food I could hover up without realising it before dinner. When Janey mentioned on one of the teleseminars about recording ourselves eating I felt embarrassed just at the thought of it as I know I must look terrifying when I am eating on my own!! I was delighted to hear on Saturday that I can have my strip of dark chocolate; I cannot tell you how much I enjoy it that little treat far more than the mounds of junk I was eating before.
For the first time I am really feeling like I am in control of my food. I don't feel how I used to feel when I was constantly on a diet or falling off one. I really believe being addicted to sugar/sweetener was the main cause of my bad relationship with food. It feels so lovely that food has now become a friend and I seem to enjoy and get great satisfaction out of everything I eat now." Rebecca, London
"For the past month, I’ve been doing an online course through Fit for a Princess, aptly called Food Management Made Easy. I’ve known about Fit for a Princess for a few years - my sister is a big fan and I like their Fit For a Fiver sessions on Wandsworth Common, every Saturday and Sunday. When I heard about this course and the idea of ‘fixing’ my attitude to diets and food forever, I was very intrigued. I had done Weight Watchers at university but I hated the idea of counting points for the rest of my life - I wanted a more realistic approach.
The course is run by Janey Holliday, the founder of Fit for a Princess. From the twice weekly webinars, to the online coaching sessions EVERY weekend, homework, online forums, and the one to one email advice, the course has been incredible and really helped me mentally and physically (half a stone off so far). I’m a sucker for this sort of thing but I have to admit, I’ve absolutely loved it (not to mention the daily vegetable juicing which is delish). It gets to the route of why you haven’t been able to manage your weight with regard to food rather than exercise and sets you up with principles that should work for the rest of your life. I would recommend it to everyone. Give it a go and get skinny for the party season - it’s fantastic value for money''

CARDIO PILATES BOOTCAMPS
“Really, really enjoyed the cardio pilates, good mix of high and low impact-very relaxing start to the day.”
“It was fab - really enjoyed it and got definite results from it.”
“What I loved was how peaceful, relaxing and healthy it was, whilst really doing some intensive body work!”
“Just had to tell you how much I loved this bootcamp. The cardio is just enough and the pilates in the morning sun is wonderful - I'm gutted to be finishing! Jo was great too - she gave us strong, challenging pilates moves, encouraged our mixed fitness group and really taught us pilates basics fast. Thanks for another great idea!”
“It was brilliant. Loved the mix and Jo an excellent instructor - nice style, good pace and really good descriptions - I’m now hooked - bye bye yoga!!”
“It was brilliant! What I liked about it was that it was totally different from the other workouts/bootcamps, so in that sense it didn't suffer from being the poorer cousin. But it also complemented the normal stuff and was challenging in its own way. The balance with 30 mins cardio then 45 mins pilates was just right - the cardio was always fun and chatty and got the endorphins and temperatures up, and I found that I mostly stayed warm throughout the pilates. The pilates was excellent - no room for chat because it requires concentration and Jo needs to continually talk you through the movements, but she has a great style and is an assured teacher. It made me very aware how good and complementary pilates is - because a lot of the exercises are used by physios, and the huge focus on your core stability, it makes you feel like you're putting the icing on the cake, gaining excellent posture to be able to perform your usual fitness exercises in an even better, more focused way. And you're also insuring yourself against injury and gain extra awareness of how your body functions.”
“This is the first boot camp I've done and I really enjoyed it. Jo is a great teacher – she's really encouraging and explains everything very clearly. I'd never done pilates before, but I found the class easy to follow and definitely noticed a bit of an improvement in flexibility and fitness by the end of the week!”
RUNNING BOOTCAMPS
“Sorry it has taken me so long to getting around thanking you, but I just wanted to write and say what an amazing experience I found the Boot Camp. It has completely changed my routine (including keeping me off the wine and choc!) and I feel like a different person. For someone who runs 3-4 times a week, I found the benefits of all over body fitness really challenging, and it has strengthened my body and improved my running no end!”
“Just wanted to say a big thank you for running the bootcamp so well. Despite being quite nervous I really enjoyed it and, as one of the more unfit princesses(!) never felt left behind. I feel a million times better and am now well on the way to getting back into my jeans after having a baby, and will be out tomorrow morning. I really loved the last two weeks – thank you Amanda so much for the right combination of pushing us and knowing when I was knackered! You were great!”
“Fitness improved – before the bootcamp I had never run 2 miles without walking for part of this. By the end of the bootcamp I managed 3 miles without walking!”
OUTDOOR WORKOUTS
“I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you so much for all your support, motivation and training in the last year. I did the 5k Race for life on Wed in 31mins and without FFAP I would never have done that.”
“I feel the best sense of achievement. I have only been doing FFAP since April and really didn’t think I would be able to do a boot camp. I was in 2 minds of doing it as I know I am always at the back of the classes, but I feel that for me I achieved a lot.”
“I don't remember how I came across FFAP but in February I felt ready to try some 'gentle' exercise so I thought I'd give Fit for a Fiver a go! It certainly wasn't gentle, but I loved it and have stuck with it - I've since done half of a Bootcamp, signed up for the remainder of the term and started going to the morning classes and Cardio Pilates (v sad it's finished!) as well as the weekends. Last Saturday I completed the Boutique Run 10K in 1:1:42, something I NEVER would have been able to do before FFAP.”
“I just wanted to write and say how much I'm enjoying Fit for a Princess. I never thought I'd look forward to exercising, but I find that FFAF is sometimes the highlight of my Saturday, it gives me a kick-start to the weekend, and as I'm often up early with my 2.5yr old, it's just the time-out which I need and I'm loving it now the weather is getting better and really feeling the benefits.”
“I will never forget my first boot camp, you made me realise I could do more than I ever thought possible... Thank you for that! I just wanted to say thank you to Amanda and all my bootcamp trainers! I did my first boot camp 6 months ago and couldn't run around the square at Clapham Common! Yesterday I ran the 5k Race for Life in 34 minutes! I never thought I would do that. Also, today is my 6 month anniversary of quitting smoking, as a result of giving up during that first bootcamp!! And not only did Fit for a Princess help me start to get my health back on track...my father in the US has taken up running again because I inspired him last time I was home!! He wants me to run a 5 mile charity race with him next weekend in my hometown! So as I sit in the taxi on my way to the airport, I wanted to thank you all for what you have done for me and even for my family!! I can't wait to come back in September and do more bootcamps!! THANK YOU!!!!!”
